Application
Our low carbon steel stands out as a versatile material, easily accommodating various processing techniques like forging, welding, and cutting. It serves as a foundational component in the manufacture of chains, rivets, bolts, and shafts. With carbon content below 0.25%, it's often referred to as soft steel due to its lower strength and hardness. This category includes both ordinary and high-quality carbon structural steel. Typically rolled into angle steel, channel steel, I-steel, pipes, bands, and plates, it is ideal for constructing diverse building components, containers, furnace bodies, and agricultural machinery. High-quality variants are crafted into sheets for deep-drawing applications like car cabs and engine hoods, while bars are used for mechanical parts requiring minimal strength. Despite its lower strength, mild steel serves a crucial role in various applications.
Enhancing the strength of steel is achievable by enriching carbon steel with manganese and trace alloying elements like vanadium, titanium, and niobium. Mild steel bars are utilized by manufacturers to shape the desired round steel pipes through high-frequency current welding. Post-formation, tubes undergo deviation correction and are cut to length. The process culminates with deburring, pressure testing, and either hot dip galvanizing or surface painting.
